What is 3D Secure OTP?

16 May 2022 By PAYCEC

The 3D Secure OTP is an abbreviation for One Time Password. It is also known as 3D Secure PIN code, dynamic password, the OTAC, One Time Authorization Code, and so on. All these different names and its function remains the same, that is to reconfirm the customers' intentions of making a transaction.

When you make an online payment with your credit or debit card, you will receive an OTP sent to your mobile device. You can only complete the purchase after having input this code into the merchant checkout page. That guarantees the purchase is authorized by the cardowner themself, so no identity thief activity can meddle with your purchase.
