Can a CVV be 5 digits? / Can a CVV be 4 digits?

No, a Card Verification Value number cannot contain 5 digits. It only consists of 3 or 4 digits, and varies depending on your card company.

The VISA, Mastercard, JCB, Discover, and other credit card companies use CVV codes of three-digit. They’re often printed on the back side of each card in reverse italics.

As for the American Express Amex cards, their CVV codes are different from the rest with four-digit. It is also known as the CID, Card Identification Code, and embossed on the middle-right of the card’s front.
