The Card Verification Value number (CVV) is a three-digit code printed on the back of your debit or credit card. The CVV number is used to detect fraud by comparing client information to the CVV number.

The code acts as your authorized signature for online transactions to protect you against virtual fraud, identity theft, unauthorized transactions.

With different card providers, the Card Verification Value (CVV) comes with different names. For example: Card Verification Code (CVC), Card Security Code (CSC), Card Identification Code (CID), Card Identification Number, etc.
