To gain access to the Amex Lounge in Melbourne, you need to hold one of the following cards: The Platinum Card® from American Express, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, Centurion® Card from American Express, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card®, etc. Regardless of the country of issuance, these are the only eligible cards for entry into the lounge.
Once you arrive at the lounge, you'll notice a chart that lists the various Australian card versions that qualify for access. Make sure you have your card ready to present to the lounge staff for verification.
It's important to note that, unlike other Centurion Lounges, the Amex Lounge in Melbourne doesn't strictly enforce the "3 hours before departure" rule. While it is better to arrive within three hours of your flight's departure time, many visitors have reported accessing the lounge outside this timeframe without issue.
If you're connecting to a foreign flight, you should still be able to access the lounge. However, depending on your specific transit circumstances, you may need to go through customs and immigration before entering the lounge.
Lounge Guest Policy
- Members of the American Express Platinum and American Express Business Platinum cards who have spent $75,000 in qualifying purchases in a calendar year may bring up to two free guests. Alternatively, a visitor day pass may be purchased for $50 per adult or $30 per child aged 2 to 17.
- Centurion cardholders may bring up to two guests or immediate family members (spouse or domestic partner, and children under the age of 18) at no extra fee.
- Delta Reserve cards may bring up to two guests at a cost of $50 per person, per visit.
- A day pass for any extra visitors is $50 for Amex Platinum, Amex Business Platinum, and Centurion cardmembers.
