Unlike most credit cards, the Amex Platinum card has an annual fee of $175 for authorized users. That seems steep until you consider the plethora of cardholder benefits included. Here is a list of all the benefits Amex Platinum authorized users to receive:

Airport lounge access.

Airports can be noisy, chaotic, and stressful places to be. Platinum cardholders and authorized users can avoid these hassles thanks to the card's airport lounge access benefits.

Authorized users of the Platinum card have full access to Amex's Global Lounge Network, which includes the exclusive Centurion lounges. Priority Pass Select membership and Delta SkyClub access round out the package.

Lounge access for authorized users is worth hundreds of dollars. Membership in Priority Pass Select alone is worth more than $429 per year.

Hilton and Marriott Gold elite status.

Amex Platinum authorized users are also eligible for the same complimentary rental car elite status as primary cardholders: Avis Preferred, Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Five Star, and National Emerald Club Executive status.

Authorized users can also get a free ShopRunner membership. This service provides free 2-day delivery from 100 online merchants, including Adorama, MacMall, and Peet's Coffee.

Using it, your authorized users can sign up for a free account. Fortunately, purchases made with the authorized user's Amex Platinum card are not required to qualify for free 2-day delivery.

Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit.

Having Global Entry or TSA PreCheck can make your travel experience better. Membership in these programs typically lasts four years and costs around $100; however, Amex Platinum cardholders receive an application credit every four years for Global Entry and every 4.5 years for TSA PreCheck.

PreCheck is $85 and includes PreCheck membership. Global Entry is $100 and includes PreCheck membership. Not only should you take advantage of this card benefit, but your authorized users are also eligible for credits. It can help to alleviate the sting of the $175 authorized user fee and ensure that you all get through the airport quickly when traveling together. It's a win-win situation for everyone.

ShopRunner membership.

ShopRunner functions similarly to Amazon Prime for popular retailers, providing free two-day delivery at over 100 online stores. It's a must-have if you shop online and want your items quickly. Membership costs $79 annually, but Platinum cardholders and authorized users are exempt.
