What are google payments? / How do I use the Google Pay method?

The Google Pay service enables customers to pay for goods and services using Android phones, tablets, or watches. It can be done in-app, online, or in-person, resulting in a smooth payment experience.

Managing your payment details with Google Pay is simple. Your payment information is securely saved to your Google Account when you purchase a Google service or a Google product, such as Google Play. You can examine or modify this information in Google Pay as needed.

Here’s how you can use the Google Pay method:

1. Adding a payment option:

• Visit the Payment Methods website.
• Click on "Add a payment method" at the bottom.
• Choose the payment method you want to add.
• Follow the instructions to complete the process.
• If verification is required for your payment method, select the appropriate option from the list and enter the verification code.

2. Modifying or removing a payment method:

• Visit the Payment Methods website.
• Click on "Edit" or "Remove" next to the payment method you wish to modify or eliminate.
• Google payments work by enabling users to select their preferred payment method from a list when they tap the Google Pay payment button. Google Pay then securely provides a payment token for the chosen payment method to your app. Your app can then send the payment token and purchase information to its backend for processing.

The Google payments center acts as a single point of contact for all payments made and received via Google products and services. Payment information stored in the payments center can be used to purchase Google hardware, digital things from Play, or storage space on Drive.

Your payment profile is configured to allow you to make purchases across Google products and accept merchant payments, which is very useful if you sell apps and extensions on the Google Play and Chrome Web Stores. Billing information, subscriptions, transaction history, and payment methods related to your Google Account are all included.

There are a few reasons why you might not see options for managing your payments in the Google payments center:

If you have never made a purchase from Google, your payment profile may not have been created yet. It is typically created when you make your first Google purchase or sign up for a paid Google service.

Certain account types, such as children’s accounts or accounts associated with organizations, are managed by other user accounts and may not directly utilize the payments center. In such cases, contacting the account administrator for assistance with profile information updates is recommended.
