The answer is Yes. Apple Pay will be available in all countries that accept contactless payments. We recommend that you bring your plastic card with you as a backup, as not all merchants in all countries accept contactless payments. Apple Pay® is available outside of Canada at vendors that accept contactless payments.
Apple Pay is based on the NFC protocol. You can use Apple Pay wherever a merchant (store) has a POS terminal with NFC capability and accepts Visa PayWave and/or MasterCard PayPass payments.
Any American VISA, MasterCard, or American Express card that supports Apple Pay has always worked in Canada, as long as the retailer accepts that method of payment and supports contactless payments.
