Which banks support Apple Pay in the UK?

Apple Pay will accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa Europe credit and debit cards issued by many of the UK's most popular banks, including first direct, HSBC, NatWest, Nationwide Building Society, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander, and Ulster Bank. Other major issuing banks, including Bank of Scotland, Coutts, Halifax, Lloyds Bank, MBNA, M&S Bank, and TSB Bank, will follow by this fall.

You can use Apple Pay to pay for items in stores by holding your iPhone or Apple Watch up to a contactless payment terminal. Apple Pay is also available on some websites and in some iOS apps. Customers in the United Kingdom will soon reap the benefits of protecting personal information, transaction data, and credit and debit card information with Apple Pay's industry-leading security. When you add a credit or debit card, neither the device nor Apple servers store the actual card numbers. Instead, a one-time unique dynamic security code is used to authorize each transaction, and a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device.
