The answer is Yes. Although not everywhere, American Express in Slovakia is a thing. If you have an Amex card, it's a good idea to have an alternate form of payment on hand. Furthermore, merchants may charge a surcharge for Amex payments.
American Express (Amex) is a payment method available in over 130 countries, including Slovakia, with over 100 million cards in circulation. Amex cardholders spend three to four times more than Visa and Mastercard cardholders, making it appealing to premium and high-end brands.
