Yes, you can use American Express cards in Greece. A Visa or Mastercard credit card is the best credit card to use in Greece. American Express is not widely accepted because shops and restaurants have to pay much higher fees for allowing it.

Along with Visa and Mastercard, American Express is the third largest player in the Greece credit card market.
