A UPI Number is a bank-verified phone number that serves as an identifier for your UPI ID. It enables you to receive money from users regardless of which app they are using. A UPI ID can have up to three UPI numbers. It can be your phone number or any other 8-10 digit numeric ID.
UPI is a banking system that allows money transfers through payment apps. Your bank must support UPI for you to add a bank account to Google Pay. Your UPI ID is a unique address used to identify yourself on UPI (typically yourname@bankname).
For example, Your Google Pay UPI ID is abcdef@bank, and you receive money using the same ID, meaning you can only view the transaction details on Google Pay and not on any other payment app.
To locate your UPI ID number, follow these steps:
- Launch Google Pay.
- Tap your photo in the upper right corner.
- Select Bank Account.
- Tap the bank account for which you want to view the UPI ID.
- The associated UPI ID can be found under "UPI IDs."
