What to do if payment is stuck in Google Pay?

There are two possibilities when the payment is stuck in Google Pay:

Payment processing at the receiving bank takes a little longer. If this is the case, Google Pay will attempt to complete the transaction within 36 hours; if it is successful, that is fantastic. If the refund is not processed promptly, you will receive your refund within 36 hours. Therefore, the maximum time it would take to complete the refund is 72 hours.

In the event of an error in the process of a UPI transaction, the transaction will be canceled, and you will receive a prompt refund. However, if there is a server outage, it may take a few minutes for the reimbursement process to be completed.

Can you cancel a pending Google Pay transaction?

When a payment is shown as ‘pending,’ you cannot cancel it or take further action. If you leave a payment in the ‘processing’ status for an extended time, the app will notify you of the pending transaction. When a payment is marked as ‘pending,’ it usually takes 3 to 5 days before it is certified as successful. However, in other cases, it may be marked as ‘failed.’

How do I check the status of a pending transaction in Google Pay?

Here are the steps to view your pending Google Pay transactions:

• Step 1: Open Google Pay on your phone and scroll all the way to the bottom.
• Step 2: Select 'View all payment activity'.
• Step 3: This will generate a list of all previous transactions.
• Step 4: You can check the status of any transaction in the list by clicking on it.
• Step 5: If the status is still pending, you can report the problem by clicking the 'raise a dispute' button.

After you file a dispute, Google should resolve the matter within 14 days.

You have the option to dispute fraudulent Google Pay transactions. Some payments can also be canceled.

• Step 1: Check to see if the transaction is finished.
• A transaction cannot be challenged until it is completed.
• The amounts displayed for transactions that are still being processed are temporary and subject to change.
• It may take some time for your account to be credited after you cancel an order or payment.
• Step 2: Check to see if the transaction was carried out by someone you know.
• If a family member or friend used your Google Account or payment method and made the transaction, proceed to the section below.
• Step 3: Report or dispute an unauthorized payment.
