It is a premium card that provides top-tier benefits to cardholders, including an annual $200 airline fee credit — but be prepared to pay one of the industry's highest fees before you can access these elevated perks.

To apply for The Platinum Card® from American Express, you must have a good or excellent credit score of at least 700, with the average applicant receiving a 715. However, American Express has approved some applicants with credit scores as low as 643.

It's important to note that if you have previously received a bonus offer for the Amex Platinum, you won't be eligible for future offers. But those from other American Express credit cards may still be available.
